Studio — Giving our dog and cat their own spaces

Our dog, Bruno, and cat, Cleo, share our studio, but they don’t share the same idea of personal space. Bruno wanted to follow Cleo everywhere. We moved a bookcase, fitted secure cat shelves along the wall and put her favourite bed on top. Suddenly, she could cross part of the room without walking past his nose.

We also created a gated corner for her litter tray, with an opening only Cleo could fit through. Bruno’s bed went beside the sofa, away from that corner. They still occasionally compete for the sunny patch, but Cleo now has somewhere to retreat when Bruno gets too sociable.
