A Dachshund, a Desk and 24 m²

I work from home in a 24 m² apartment in Seoul with Kongi, my five-year-old dachshund. People assume a dog in a small flat must be unhappy.. What it really means is having a very structured day.

We walk before I open my laptop, again at lunch, and then take a longer walk in the evening. Inside, she has a soft resting place near my chair and a folded blanket by the door where she watches the corridor. That is her territory and she loves it.

The hardest part was not space. It was the noise — thin walls and a dog who wanted to announce every neighbour. Playing the radio quietly and rewarding her calm moments took about three weeks to make a difference.
