About Pets in Wonderland

Welcome to Pets in Wonderland!

We’re a family who have lived in four countries across continental Europe, as well as the UK—and our pets have come along wherever we’ve called home. Dogs, cats, rabbits, guinea pigs… we’ve even moved with an aquarium!

Between journeys by plane, ferry and car, we’ve collected plenty of stories and learned a lot along the way. Life with animals takes a little planning, a sense of humour and sometimes a fair amount of patience.

Over the years, our homes have changed too. When more of us lived under one roof, we had bigger apartments. As the children have grown up and flown the nest, we’ve gradually downsized. Our spaces have become smaller, but our pets are still very much part of the family.

We created Pets in Wonderland to share those experiences and the practical things we’ve learned about travelling, moving and living with animals—including in smaller homes. We’d love to hear your stories, questions and ideas too.

As you can probably guess, our favourite series is The Durrells. And one of our favourite moments of the day is sitting down with a coffee and stroking a pet—ours or a friend’s. That quiet connection with an animal is something special. It lifts our spirits and reminds us how much joy there is in simply being together.
