My cockatoo taught me about quiet mornings

A parrot in a small apartment is mostly a lesson in routine. Mine lives in a 32 m² flat in Melbourne with me.\n\nHer cage is only where she sleeps. During the day she is on a stand by the window, and the window is the entertainment: birds, trees, the tram. Foraging toys made from paper cups keep her busy while I am out.\n\nThe honest part: she is loud in the morning and there is no fixing that. I spoke to my neighbours before I adopted her, and covering the cage until seven helps more than I expected.
