The aquarium that replaced our sideboard

Our guppy family started with a small group of adults, followed by tiny babies hiding among the plants.

Before bringing the fish home, we replaced a wobbly sideboard with a proper aquarium stand and installed a larger, filtered and heated tank away from the sunny window. Watching the guppies soon became our evening entertainment.

When the babies arrived, we realised we needed a plan for the growing population. An experienced fish keeper helped us arrange suitable homes as they grew. The stand’s cupboard holds our testing kit and maintenance supplies, which is considerably tidier than the collection of bottles that used to live beside the sofa.
