A Dedicated Black Widow Enclosure

I live alone in a one-bedroom apartment and keep a black widow spider as an experienced invertebrate keeper.

Her enclosure originally occupied my desk, but I disliked having it beside cables and things I moved every day. I rearranged the living room and gave it a dedicated, stable stand in a quiet corner.

Her specialist enclosure has secure closures and sits within secondary containment. I keep visitors away from it and never handle her. Be aware that Black widows have medically significant venom; and I can consider myself to be a specialist keeper.

Most guests admire my houseplants; this particular resident is observed from a distance.
